I am responsible for the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of the Visual Arts and Graphic Design programs.
• Lead a team of teachers and operational staff (administrative and technical) to:
deliver Melbourne Polytechnic’s Visual Arts program (courses from Certificate III to
Advanced Diploma)
design curriculum that is industry-relevant, current and engaging – including the transition of Visual Arts courses to the new Creative Arts and Culture Training Package (2021-2023) in consultation with industry
ideate and execute initiatives that engage students and improve learning outcomes – such as industry forums, study tours (Vietnam in 2023), and an annual program of graduate exhibitions
ensure compliance with Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) Standards for RTOs 2015.
• As a team leader:
actively engage and communicate with the broader organisation and senior management – to contribute to organisation-wide initiatives and policy and procedural changes
navigate and interpret the complex regulatory and compliance environment of Vocational Education and Training (VET) ensuring the program complies with Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) Standards for RTOs 2015
provide educational support and pastoral care to program staff and a diverse student body, including students with a range of learning challenges, also managing conflict and student/staff grievances
promote and increase visibility of Visual Arts courses and annual program of graduate exhibitions within the organisation and externally through social media, career expos and school visits
build and model a culture and community that is positive and inclusive in which people feel they belong – the Visual Arts program area consistently rates above target indicators in the annual ASQA Quality Indicator Survey
drive change and continuous improvement such as the transition to online learning during COVID and to a blended learning model post COVID, including upskilling and supporting teachers and students to move to new ways of teaching and learning.

developed effective communications that engage and support employees and stakeholders through change events such as demergers, system implementations, and culture change programs. Projects include employee communications for the DuluxGroup demerger from Orica, share plan offer communications for ANZ employees across Asia Pacific, and customer and sales team communications for NBN transition at Telstra Wholesale (Broadband, Fixed Wireless and Broadband Aggregation).
designed communications solutions and simplified complex product, service and operational information into engaging, ‘plain English’ copy for customers and other key stakeholders – radically improving usability and accessibility while maintaining technical integrity and accuracy. For example, the design and development of a team effectiveness playbook for Australia Post senior managers, development of an online performance management toolkit at Australian Super, and an interactive customer onboarding guide for Telstra Wholesale customers.
in-house photography and art director for clients - photographing senior executive teams, staff and other stakeholders as needed for the creation of publications and online channels. Client list: Superannuation Complaints Tribunal, Telstra, Telstra Wholesale, Australian Super, First Super, Combined Super, and NESS Super.
planned, designed and project-managed the production of communications and marketing materials, print collateral and online content across all client projects. This includes taking the brief form a client, writing content, preparing design briefs for graphic and web designers, reviewing designs and proofing and editing copy.
designed, executed and project managed web and intranet projects – from requirements scoping and stakeholder engagement through design and content development to launch, delivering websites that are intuitive, engaging, on-brand and easily maintained by content owners. designed and ran focus groups and employee workshops for rebrand and web projects. For example, member focus groups for 3-fund merger (First Super, Pulp & Paper Workers’ Superannuation Fund, and the Timber Industry Super Scheme), First Super rebrand, and Combined Super rebrand and website relaunch.
